RCD Espanyol of Barcelona

RCD Espanyol de Barcelona, founded in 1900 in Barcelona. Of the Spanish teams that have played the most seasons in La Liga, Espanyol is in fifth place with 85 seasons. Clubs that have played more seasons in La Liga than Espanyol are Athletic Club Bilbao, FC Barcelona, Real Madrid with 89 seasons. In Espanyol's A team, a whopping 54% of the players come from our own Academy, the RCD Espanyol de Barcelona Academy in the Barcelona Youth section, which also exports players to the whole world. An important part for Espanyol is the club's important values where everyone who represents Espanyol and wears the club's badge must be a role model for these 8 values:

RCD Espanyol de Barcelona Akademi

RCD Espanyol de Barcelona Academy is a club that is part of RCD Espanyol de Barcelona. We follow the same philosophy and methodology as our mother club in Barcelona where all children are welcome regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, needs, capacities and level.

The RCD Espanyol de Barcelona Academy takes care of each player's needs so that each individual can develop in an educational process in football. All children are different and develop differently, and based on our philosophy, we believe that each player should train at his developmental level together with players who are at the same level. Therefore, we strive to, as far as possible, not let players who are further along in their development train together with players who are not as far along. We do this to promote development to the maximum for players at different levels. All players will always train based on the same concept but based on their level.

Philosophy

Our philosophy is that it is important that the players understand the game of football. How do we do this?

First of all, with our methodology, we understand that it is the players who play, then they have to make decisions and find solutions to the different situations in the game, for this we do not tell the solutions to the players, we guide them to find the right solution, like this the effect of the learning process is much greater. We cannot tell them what to do, but we can guide them to know what they need to check and to make better decisions. One of our strong points is the feedback we do with the players, we leave here some examples of our director Sergi Angulo Lerín giving feedback to our players and in consulting services. Video analysis is also a big part of our club to develop players and that they understand football in different ways
